Nvidia puts $2B into Marvell
It's not that Marvell needed the money, but the Nvidia treasury has to put it's cash somewhere. The companies promis to work on AI-RAN (5G/6G stuff) and silicon photonics (SiPho). Marvell supplies a lot of the non-Chinese base stations and is more advanced in interconnect such as SiPho. Nvidia is keen to advance in both areas.
