Intel PC processors to ditch P-cores
In January, subscribers to my XPU.pub newsletter saw my article on future Intel PC processors having only E-cores. Repeating info from sources on Xitter and Zhihu.com, Notebookcheck states that the Intel Titan Lake 14A PC processor slated for 2028 is the all-E-core chip’s name and could have 100 CPUs.
Because versions of the upcoming Nova Lake processor are rumored to have 16 P-cores plus 32 E-cores, and because four E-cores occupy a similar area as one P-core, a 100 E-core chip is already feasible to manufacture. The question is: who wants 100 E-cores?
