FuriosaAI's RNGD AI accelerator finds favor with LG

FuriosaAI’s RNGD AI accelerator (NPU) has passed LG AI Research's tests with its EXAONE models, concluding "Renegade" is sufficiently fast and lower power than GPU solutions. Furiosa and LG AI Research will offer RNGD Server to enterprise customers deploying LLMs. Korea is one of the few countries with sovereign AI initiatives that's hosted NPU startups. Although it's a small nation, its massive chaebol and their huge footprint mean any startup garnering traction has potential for worldwide impact. Nonetheless, a lot must go right for FuriosaAI for it to rival Nvidia on the peninsula, much less the global stage.
